Job summary

Boyd’s Tire & Service in Central Ohio is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles while adhering to MAP guidelines and manufacturer standards. You’ll work with the Store Manager and Service Consultants to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

Compensation is $40-$50 per hour, with benefits including tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holidays, health/dental/vision, life insurance, a 401(k) match, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have ASE or equivalent training or experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Minimum age 18 and available to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles per certifications/experience level.
• Perform work on inspections and repair orders with accuracy.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff.
• Recommend necessary services and document them properly.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain ASE certifications.

The Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers and Boyd’s Tire standards.

COMPENSATION: $40-$50/ hour consisting of hourly + flag rate

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

Qualifications:

• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training (3+ years of senior level experience).
• Possess valid driver’s license and clear and MVR screening
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
