Lorton Auto Service Center in Northern Virginia is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles. You will use diagnostic tools, read schematics, and perform powertrain and electrical system work to ensure safety and reliability.

Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
• Conduct repairs on powertrain components, transmissions, diesel engines, and other mechanical systems with precision and efficiency.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Execute vehicle maintenance procedures including oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and suspension work to ensure safety and performance.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to guide repairs on all makes and models.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.

Requirements

• Proven technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
• Solid mechanical knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, engines.
• Hands-on experience with automotive service procedures including wheel alignment, vehicle maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with schematics reading, auto estimating software, and diagnostic equipment for accurate assessments.
• Ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance devices.
• Experience is highly preferred; familiarity with all makes and models is a plus.
