Job summary

Boyd’s Tire & Service in Central Ohio is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles in accordance with MAP guidelines and shop standards.

The role requires ASE certification or equivalent experience (3+ years), a valid driver's license with a clean MVR, and the ability to work five days a week including Saturdays. Competitive benefits are offered.

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Recommend services that keep the vehicle in running condition and document all recommendations.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintain ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

The Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers and Boyd’s Tire standards.

COMPENSATION: $40-$50 flag rate

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.

• Prefer a minimum of one unexpired ASE or equivalent experience or training (3+ years of senior level experience).
• Possess valid driver’s license and clear and MVR screening
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
