Job summary

Pep Boys is looking for an automotive technician to perform thorough safety inspections and a broad range of vehicle repairs in a fast-paced environment. You will communicate needed services to customers and management, and suggest additional maintenance to improve vehicle performance and safety.

Responsibilities include diagnosing brake, tire, emissions, and electrical systems, securing vehicles during service, and maintaining proficiency with service equipment while supporting team

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Experience with automotive inspections and repairs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough safety and mechanical vehicle inspections for every car assigned.
• Communicate repairs to customers and management; recommend additional services.
• Diagnose and repair brakes, tires, safety and emissions, fluid changes, steering and suspension, and starting/charging systems.
• Secure vehicles during and after repairs.
• Maintain technical capabilities and safe use of service equipment; interpret instructions.
• Support productivity, training development plans, and performance goals.
• Serve as a resource for parts recommendations to service advisors, technicians, management and customers.
• Collaborate with management to ensure a safe, healthy work environment and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a thorough safety and mechanical vehicle inspection is completed and documented for every car assigned to you.
• Communicate necessary repairs to customers and management, recommending additional services related to scheduled maintenance, enhancements, and upgrades.
• Conduct a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs, including brakes, tire services (mounting, balancing, flat repairs), safety and emissions testing, fluid changes, steering and suspension, and starting and charging systems.
• Secure vehicles during and after repairs.
• Maintain technical capabilities to ensure proficient, safe use of service equipment and interpret technical instructions.
• Maintain company-directed productivity, training development plans, and performance levels.
• Serve as an approachable and knowledgeable resource for installation and application of parts and accessories, providing accurate guidance to service advisors, technicians, associate teams, management, and customers.
• Partner with management to produce a safe and healthy work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal laws, company policies, loss prevention, safety, and environmental codes.

Job Details

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
