Qualifications

Role Description

The Automotive Technician at Future Motors is a full-time, on-site role based in Boise, ID. This team member performs routine and advanced service tasks on electric and hybrid vehicles, including inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. Daily responsibilities include conducting oil or fluid changes when applicable, performing suspension and brake work, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and documenting all services performed in accordance with shop standards. The technician collaborates with service advisors to explain findings, supports a clean and safe workspace, follows safety and environmental guidelines, and participates in ongoing training related to EV systems and emerging automotive technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in vehicle maintenance and general maintenance & repair across a variety of automotive systems.
• Hands-on experience performing oil changes and routine service tasks in a professional shop environment.
• Proficiency in automotive repair, including diagnosing and resolving mechanical and basic electrical issues.
• Capability to inspect, service, and repair suspension components while ensuring proper vehicle handling and safety.
• Familiarity or interest in electric vehicles, EV drivetrains, and high-voltage safety practices.
• Relevant technical certification or automotive training; ASE certifications or equivalent are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports.
• Reliable work habits, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining a safe, organized work area.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and customers.
