Job Description:

UPS is currently seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. This role involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Powered vehicle propulsion includes diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical systems where available. Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining systems like hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical, and engine control systems. Automotive Technicians should be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including schedules from Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on location needs. Responsibilities and Duties

1. Meet D.O.T requirements as per job assignment.
2. Perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting throughout the workday.
3. Occasionally sit as needed during the workday.
4. Use hand grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level to complete tasks.
5. Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles.
6. Use power and pneumatic tools effectively.
7. Obtain Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certification.

Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum 5 years of automotive mechanical experience - REQUIRED.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computers.
• Possession of a full set of personal hand tools - PREFERRED.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - REQUIRED.
• Ability to work full-time shifts of 8-10 hours per day, 5 days a week.
• Dependability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled shifts.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, overtime, and additional hours as needed.
• Wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Work environment includes variable temperatures, humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and inclement weather.
• Ability to communicate effectively through sight, hearing, or other means to ensure safety and task completion.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position is $38.41 per hour. Benefits include weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), pension plan, medical/dental/vision coverage after probation, $0 healthcare premiums, paid vacation, sick leave, family and medical leave, holidays, and employee stock purchase programs.
