Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Auto Maintenance Tech I at Manheim in the United States. You will perform light-duty maintenance and repairs across a variety of vehicles in a collaborative shop environment, with a Day shift and opportunities for skill development.

New hires are eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate standard, automatic, and electric vehicles are required, with up to two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and light repairs.
• Diagnose and repair braking, steering, suspension, electrical/AC systems.
• Replace tires, seals, radiators and other components.
• Test and replace batteries and electrical components.
• Source parts from approved vendors.
• Assist with upfitting new vehicles with equipment.

Hourly base pay rate is $24.09 - $36.11/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

What You’ll Do

You’ll perform light-duty work as an intermediate-level auto technician in a supportive team environment. You will:

• Complete routine auto maintenance, including oil and filter changes, fuel filter replacements, transmission flushes, spark plug replacements and vehicle inspections.

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems, including brake, steering, suspension systems, starting and charging electrical/AC systems (including evacuation and recharge).

• Perform a variety of mechanical and component repairs, including tires, rear main seals, timing covers, radiators and interior/exterior components.

• Test, maintain and replace key components, including batteries and related electrical systems.

• Complete routine maintenance on shop equipment.

• Utilize approved vendors to source and obtain parts.

• Assist with upfitting new vehicles with required equipment.

• Comply with applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations, including proper handling of recyclables, fluids, tires and waste.
