Job summary

NTT DATA Romania is seeking an experienced System Engineer to support automotive system development from concept to production. You will lead requirements management, architecture development, and risk analyses, coordinating across hardware, software, and validation teams.

Ideal candidates have strong English communication, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on experience with DFMEA/FTA and ISO 26262. This freelance/B2B role focuses on complex, safety-critical automotive programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience in system engineering within automotive or complex product development.
• Strong knowledge of requirements management and traceability.
• Hands-on DFMEA and FTA analysis experience.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Excellent English communication with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end system engineering activities across automotive development programs.
• Define, analyze, document, and manage system and customer requirements using requirements management tools.
• Ensure requirements traceability, consistency, completeness, and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, interfaces, and functional concepts.
• Perform and support system safety, reliability, and risk analysis activities, including DFMEA and FTA.
• Coordinate with hardware, software, mechanical, validation, and other engineering disciplines for system integration.
• Act as a technical interface for customers and internal stakeholders, supporting reviews and issue resolution.
• Manage development documentation, work items, configuration, and traceability using lifecycle management tools.
• Support Functional Safety and Cybersecurity activities per automotive standards.
• Participate in design reviews, technical assessments, audits, and risk management.
• Support problem-solving and root cause analysis for system-level issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of system engineering processes and practices.
