Job summary

Aptive is seeking a System Engineer in Carmel, IN for a long-term engagement at Indiana Tech Center. The role involves leading requirements engineering, system architecture, and feature development for Occupant Sensing products, coordinating across algorithm, software, hardware, and testing teams.

You will review designs, challenge decisions, and ensure robustness at the system level, with experience in DOORS, Polarion, and automotive protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS or Polarion.
• Knowledge of automotive ASPICE processes and functional safety basics.
• Ability to analyze and communicate model architectures, data flows, and fault strategies.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical owner of Occupant Sensing features across algorithm, software, hardware, and testing teams.
• Decompose feature level requirements into system specifications and algorithmic details.
• Review design decisions, identify gaps, and ensure system-level robustness.
• Develop and analyze system architectures, data flows, and state machines.
• Collaborate across cross-cultural teams and document decisions clearly.
