Job summary

The Ed Napleton Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Technician-Skilled at Napleton Auto Park of Urbana to perform vehicle maintenance per dealer and factory standards. You will help build customer loyalty by ensuring safety and reliability and by communicating effectively with teammates and customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Automotive technical training or experience as a lube tech or technician assistant.
• Valid in-state driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to undergo a background check as required by law.
• 18+ years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections and communicate results.
• Check oil level and tire pressure; perform wheel alignments.
• Inspect and refill fluids; replace oil drain plug and filter.
• Clean and lubricate fittings; inspect/replace batteries and radiators.
• Handle recalls that do not require diagnostic equipment; keep center tidy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete vehicle inspection
• Check and communicate oil level to other teammates
• Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation
• Perform wheel alignments
• Inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary
• Install a new oil drain plug and a new oil filter
• Clean and lubricate fittings as needed
• Clean and replace batteries
• Replace or repair exhaust system
• Remove and reinstall brake drums and/or brake shoes
• Replace Radiators
• Perform Manufacturer recalls that do not require diagnostic equipment
• Ensure that the service center is clean and presentable

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Automotive technical training or experience as a lube tech, or technician assistant
• Valid in-state driver's license and clean driving record
• Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
