Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service is seeking an experienced Shop Manager in Texas to lead an automotive service team. You will drive store performance, supervise guest services, manage operations, and ensure profitability through cost controls and staff leadership.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in sales in an auto repair shop management position or equivalent automotive industry experience.
• Proven ability to lead and coach a team to success with clear communication and strategy execution.
• Ability to develop and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual plans with defined goals.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales and profit targets.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure exceptional guest service by maintaining store standards, product knowledge, and timely responses to escalated complaints.
• Lead and coach the management team; conduct regular meetings, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Analyze financials and sales trends; plan actions to maximize sales and profitability; share results in staff meetings.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards; monitor inventory and shrinkage; ensure proper asset controls.
• Oversee operations to ensure adherence to policies and procedures and drive customer satisfaction.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Guest Service

• Ensures that each customer receives outstanding customer service by ensuring that management team is maintaining store standards, solid product knowledge, conducting call backs, ensures that time commitments are met, and all other components of guest service. Handles escalated customer complaints.

People

• Sets expectations and communicates regularly with employees on job responsibilities, goals, training, development and overall customer service. Holds management team accountable for job responsibilities, training and goals by coaching or counseling employees toward desired behaviors. The District Manager will lead by example.
• Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures of the Company by conducting regular meetings with employees, store audits, etc.
• Conducts performance evaluations for all employees at regular intervals.

Financials

• Analyzes and measures business trends; develops and implements plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed Sales and Profit targets as provided in the Store Margin Statement. Share financial targets and results with all employees during store meetings.
• Review invoices and other daily reports to identify opportunities for growing the business.
• Maintains proper controls over the Company’s physical and financial assets. Follows standard closing procedures including timely deposit of checks and cash.
• Inventory control

Facilities

• Ensures the cleanliness of the store – both front and back, at all times.
• Maintains “Best in class” housekeeping and merchandising standards to ensure the comfort of customers. Conducts regular inspections of equipment, and requests maintenance, as necessary.
• Ensures that all purchased, but not used parts are returned timely to the vendor and credits received and forwarded to accounting.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience of sales in an auto repair shop management position or equivalent business experience in the automotive industry.
• Previous experience in managing and coaching team members to success through effective communication; business development and strategy implementation knowledge.
• Proven ability to develop and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual plans with clearly defined goals.
• Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales and profit goals.
• Previous experience as an Automotive Technician or similar position preferred, but not required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years of age
