Job summary

BMW OF BIRMINGHAM, a Sonic Automotive family dealership, seeks a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to maintain records and support the department manager. This role will administer internal procedures and reports and ensure accurate shipping/receiving records.

Responsibilities include processing shipments, receiving items, tracking status with internal customers, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
• Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Receive items according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate incoming and outgoing status to appropriate internal customers and managers.
• Handle correspondence as directed by Dept. Manager
• Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.
• Ensure effective tracking of shipments.
• Administer service car rental program.
• Ensure best relationship between dealership, customer, and factory.
• Handle selected customer complaints.
• Follow all company safety policies and report accidents.
• All other duties as assigned.
