Job description

Automotive Service Technician

Customer satisfaction depends on your personal work habits and ethics, which are of utmost importance in this role.

The Service Technician is responsible for setting personal goals for service improvement and monitoring progress against customer satisfaction index numbers and production targets provided by the Service Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Primary Responsibilities:
  2. Correctly troubleshoot customer concerns using the latest administrative and technical tools provided.
  3. Show common courtesy toward all customers.
  4. Act as a secondary customer greeter near the Service Drive to acknowledge customers.
  5. Stay updated with all technical publications, Service Communication, and Asist terminal operations.
  6. Ensure safe and quality vehicle service is delivered as promised on the first visit.
  7. Address all original customer concerns before proposing additional sales.
  8. Inspect vehicles for additional sales opportunities, ensuring maintenance aligns with local and factory recommendations.
  9. Return vehicles clean or cleaner than upon arrival.
  10. Participate in factory or in-house training programs.
  11. Complete all paperwork accurately, attaching all required shop forms to the RO hard copy.
  12. Perform any other duties assigned by the Service Manager, ASM, or Group Leader.
  13. Arrive on time, prepared to work, and in a clean uniform.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  • Experience in warranty and non-warranty vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across various makes and models.
  • Proven success in achieving or exceeding goals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and energetic personality.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions.
  • Good judgment skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ASE certification demonstrating technical aptitude.
  • Technical or trade school degree preferred.
