Automotive Service Technician Apprentice Program

Requirements to be accepted into our apprentice program:

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Become a mechanic's aide and learn through mentoring, coaching, and participation:
• Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and factory standards to drive customer loyalty.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate recommendations to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician’s tools, excluding special tools.
• Stay updated on factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to foster loyalty.

Automotive Service Technician Apprentice Job Description

An automotive service technician apprentice will shadow and follow all commands given by the mentor and coach technicians. You will conduct yourself professionally at all times, as if you are a skilled technician. You are expected to learn thoroughly, demonstrate competency, and perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas.

Who Would I Interact With?

This position involves daily interaction with your coach and mentor, other technicians, parts personnel, and customer-facing service advisors. You will observe and take notes during customer interactions with senior technicians and occasionally observe conversations involving sales staff and management.
