Job summary

Serra Buick GMC Rochester Hills is seeking a qualified Automotive Service Technician specializing in transmissions. You will work in a high-volume store, performing repairs and diagnostics with access to the latest Ford technology and equipment in a fast-paced shop.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years of automotive transmission experience, plus GM/state certifications in gasoline engine repair. A valid driver’s license and strong customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of experience as Automotive Transmission technician.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to read and comprehend written instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify issues.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair gasoline engine vehicles.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional services and timing estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Automotive Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Performing work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing gasoline engine vehicles.
• Communicating directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Automotive Service Technician Job Requirements
