Knudtsen Chevrolet is seeking Automotive Service Technicians to join the Knudtsen family in Post Falls, Idaho. The team is a family-owned operation offering a full-service department, GM parts, and a community-focused culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience as automotive service technician preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and organized.
  • Self-motivated team player with good communication.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and drive both automatic and manual vehicles.
  • Must pass MVR and have a safe driving record.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repair work per repair order.
  • Inspect vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required.
  • Communicate with service advisor if additional work needed or time estimates change.
  • Coordinate with Parts Department to obtain parts and report status.
  • Use approved repair techniques to service vehicles to pre-concern condition.
  • Maintain appearance of customers' vehicles and report changes.
  • Report machinery defects and maintain tools and manuals.
  • Complete manufacturer-sponsored training and stay updated on bulletins.

Wage & Compensation


  • Wage Range: $25.00 - $50.00/flat rate hour ($50,000 - $180,000/ year). Earnings are dependent on proficiency.

  • Seeking various levels of experience such as Transmission Techs, Diesel Techs and Service Techs. Pay will be dependent on skills and qualifications.

Knudtsen Chevrolet is seeking Automotive Service Technicians to join the Knudtsen family. Summary of Position

An Automotive Service Technician is responsible for correctly and efficiently diagnosing and repairing vehicle components in accordance with factory and dealership specifications, ensuring that each completed vehicle meets or exceeds established quality and safety standards, thus providing excellent customer service. You would be essential to the timeliness of returning vehicles back to their owners and should take great pride in your finished product. Continued training would be provided.


Responsibilities


  • Diagnose cause of malfunction and perform work as outlined on the repair order. Accurately document all work performed and recommended.

  • Inspect assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended - may include road tests.

  • Clearly communicate with service advisor if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

  • Connect with Parts Department to obtain needed parts and reports status of parts to service advisor.

  • Use approved repair techniques and materials to service each vehicle to pre-concern condition.

  • Ensure appearance of customers’ vehicles is maintained or improved - notify service advisor of any change in the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions and maintain all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Operate all tools and equipment safely.

  • Complete manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events as requested. Keep up to date on technical bulletins.


Qualifications


  • Able to perform day-to-day service activities in a technician environment.

  • Previous experience as a general electrical, transmission, and/or diesel technician is preferred.

  • Be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs without assistance and stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods of time on concrete.

  • Have strong attention to detail and be organized.

  • A self-motivated team player that is able to communicate effectively with team members and works well with other technicians and service advisors.

  • Have a valid driver's license and able to drive both automatic and manual vehicles

  • Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.

  • Pass a criminal background check and drug test. Also subject to random drug testing at the company's request.

The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Team Members regularly works 45-50 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
