Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle performance concerns.
- Perform engine diagnostics and repairs.
- Diagnose and repair transmissions and drivetrain components.
- Perform steering and suspension diagnosis and repair.
- Diagnose and repair brake systems.
- Perform HVAC and climate-control diagnosis and repair.
- Complete scheduled maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services.
- Identify necessary maintenance and repair needs.

Tool-moving assistance is available for qualifying technicians joining McElwain Chevrolet.
We'll work with qualified candidates to help make the transition to our Ellwood City service department as convenient as possible.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, drivability, and vehicle performance concerns
- Perform engine diagnostics and repairs
- Diagnose and repair transmissions and drivetrain components
- Perform steering and suspension diagnosis and repair
- Diagnose and repair automotive brake systems
- Perform HVAC and climate-control diagnosis and repair
- Complete scheduled maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections
- Identify necessary maintenance and repair needs
- Use modern automotive diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and GM manufacturer resources
- Complete customer-pay, warranty, and internal repair work
- Accurately document vehicle diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations
- Communicate effectively with automotive service advisors
- Follow Chevrolet, GM, and dealership repair procedures
- Maintain manufacturer and dealership quality standards
- Complete repairs correctly, safely, and efficiently
- Previous professional Automotive Technician or Automotive Mechanic experience
- Dealership service technician experience preferred
- Chevrolet or GM dealership experience is a plus
- Strong automotive diagnostic and mechanical skills
- Experience diagnosing automotive electrical systems
- Ability to independently diagnose and complete repairs
- ASE certifications preferred
- GM manufacturer certifications preferred
- Chevrolet factory training or certifications are a plus
- Strong productivity and time-management skills
- Ability to succeed in a flat-rate or production-focused service environment
- Commitment to quality repairs and fixing vehicles correctly the first time
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Dependable attendance
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
Chevrolet/GM experience is preferred, but experienced technicians from other automotive manufacturers and independent repair facilities are encouraged to apply.
