Job summary

Sunset Ford presents an opportunity for a Full-Time Service Shop Porter to support our technician team in the service department. This role focuses on cleanliness, organization, safety, and shop efficiency, enabling technicians to repair vehicles without distractions.

The position is physically demanding, requires standing and moving throughout shifts, and involves cleaning spills, restocking supplies, and assisting with shop duties as needed. A valid driver’s license is preferred.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical work.
• Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.
• Ability to walk, squat, lift, bend, twist and be on your feet the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of technician work areas, service bays, and shop floors.
• Perform heavy‑duty cleaning of oil, grease, coolant, transmission fluid, and other spills.
• Scrub and maintain shop floors using floor scrubbers and pressure washers.
• Empty trash, recycling, and shop waste throughout the day.
• Organize and dispose of cardboard, scrap metal, used tires, and other shop materials.
• Clean and restock employee and customer restrooms.
• Keep walkways and exterior shop areas clean, including snow/ice removal in winter.
• Move vehicles safely between service drive, bays, and parking areas.
• Assist technicians and management with shop support duties as needed.
