Job Description

Job Title: Automotive Service Manager

Location: 3050 E. New York Street, Aurora, IL 60502

Job Overview: The Service Manager has responsibility and authority for all aspects of the daily operation of the business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sales activities, staff management, quality of work, guest satisfaction, revenue, profit margin, and other documented goals as assigned by the Owner. All office and shop personnel report directly to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage office and shop personnel and daily operations
  2. Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures as outlined in the current Employee Handbook
  3. Take necessary corrective and/or disciplinary action for employee non-compliance
  4. Ensure quality of work, attitude and performance meets or exceeds guest satisfaction goals
  5. Direct the smooth, orderly and organized operation of the store
  6. Maintain a personal positive attitude and positive communications at all times
  7. Develop estimates and work orders.
  8. Direct Service Writer's development of our guest estimates and work orders and assign work orders to the technicians
  9. Ensure selection of quality parts
  10. Ensure target margins are achieved
  11. Open and close stores on a daily basis
  12. Perform daily accounting closing and balancing procedures
  13. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations, audits and report analysis. Report results to Franchise Owners and or Operators
  14. Ensure all equipment is fully operational and in good working order.
  15. Ensure technicians have the resources needed to do their job
  16. Serve as the primary communications interface to the customers, before, during and after service
  17. Greet every guest that enters our facility with enthusiasm and a smile, showing hospitality and the highest level of respect
  18. Present the best solution to properly repair our customer’s vehicle in a way that is easy for them to understand
  19. Possess the ability to consistently and effectively sell our services without jeopardizing honesty and integrity
  20. Act in a professional manner suitable as to represent a quality organization with which you are employed, always and in every instance projecting the characteristics of honesty and integrity
  21. Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  1. 5 years work experience in Automotive Customer Service & Service Sales
  2. Supervisory or Management experience in the Automotive Industry
  3. Proficiency in Windows based computer software and automotive store applications
  4. Experience in TekMetric software application preferred, but not required
  5. Graduation from an industry recognized service training program preferred but not required
  6. ASE Service Consultant certification or equivalent experience
  7. Current driver’s licenses
  8. Driving record acceptable to our current insurance carrier

Physical Requirements:

  1. Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
  2. Driving manual transmission vehicles
  3. Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
  4. Using a keyboard and mouse several times daily
  5. Using a standard handset phone several times daily
