Job summary

Halco Group, operating Midas locations in Michigan, is hiring an Automotive Service Writer to greet customers, write repair orders, and guide them from estimate to invoice. You will promote maintenance, repairs, and tires with honest, confident recommendations.

You will work a busy front desk with a 5-day, 45–50 hour week and be eligible for a base salary with uncapped commission. Company benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive service writing, parts counter, or a customer-facing sales role.
• Basic automotive knowledge and real interest in the industry.
• Strong communicator who can juggle phones, walk-ins, and a full schedule board.
• Comfortable with point-of-sale systems and digital inspection tools.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own the front counter: greet customers, write repair orders, and guide them from estimate to invoice.
• Recommend and sell maintenance, repair, and tire work — clearly, honestly, confidently
• Translate technician findings into recommendations customers understand and approve
• Coordinate with techs to keep the shop schedule moving and promises kept
• Keep the front desk sharp, organized, and professional
