Job Description

The Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service department and for selling additional services to customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) rating as set by service manager
  • Maintain the standard for “hours per customer repair order written”
  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, communicate effectively to determine mechanical issues, and obtain accurate customer and vehicle data
  • Test-drive vehicles as necessary
  • Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications
  • Inspect vehicles for additional repair needs and explain repair instructions clearly
  • Notify dispatcher of incoming work and provide estimates for labor and parts
  • Establish and confirm payment methods, obtain approvals, and secure customer signatures
  • Follow up on repair progress and communicate with customers about changes
  • Ensure work quality and reduce rework by analyzing quality control reports
  • Deliver vehicles and maintain good customer relationships
  • Keep work and customer areas clean and organized
Physical Requirements
  • Occasionally use hands to handle, reach, climb, or stoop
  • Regularly stand, talk, hear; walk and sit frequently
  • Potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles
  • Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
