Job summary

Surge Staffing in Normal, IL is hiring Automotive Seat Assemblers for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–12:00 AM). No prior automotive experience is required; training is provided to help you learn seating assembly.

You will assemble vehicle seating components, follow work instructions, and help meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards. This is a great entry into manufacturing and automotive work.

Qualifications

Previous manufacturing, assembly, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
Automotive assembly experience is a plus.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to work overtime or adjusted schedules based on production needs.

Responsibilities

Assemble automotive seats and seating components according to work instructions.
Install seat covers, foam, frames, hardware, and other components.
Use hand tools and power tools as required.
Follow established assembly processes and production procedures.
Perform basic quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications.
Identify and report quality issues or defective components.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety procedures and production guidelines.
Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
Perform repetitive assembly tasks throughout the shift.
Assist with other production duties as assigned.
