AUTOMOTIVE SALES CONSULTANT

THE POSITION: Sales Representatives are responsible for selling automobiles by understanding and demonstrating features; developing and qualifying buyers; and closing sales.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and determine their vehicle preferences.
  • Explain features and demonstrate vehicle operation.
  • Recommend optional equipment.
  • Research vehicle models and options.
  • Consult with Sales Manager when needed; ensure customer consultation before departure.
  • Work with Sales Manager to prepare sales quotes, including taxes, trade-ins, licensing, and financing.
  • Complete all paperwork related to sales and financing.
  • Deliver vehicles and explain features, warranties, and paperwork to customers, fostering loyalty.
  • Maintain prospect development system.
  • Stay updated on new products and features.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Achieve or surpass sales targets.

Physical Requirements:

  • Exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Use hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Stand, talk, and hear regularly; walk and sit frequently.
  • Potential exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
