AUTOMOTIVE SALES CONSULTANT

Sales Representatives are responsible for selling automobiles by understanding and demonstrating characteristics, capabilities, and features; developing and qualifying buyers; and closing sales.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Sales, hospitality, or customer service experience
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers on the sales floor and determine vehicle preferences.
  • Explain features and demonstrate vehicle operation.
  • Suggest optional equipment and research model availability.
  • Consult with Sales Manager as needed; ensure customer consultation before departure.
  • Work with Sales Manager to compute and quote sales price, including taxes, trade-in, license, discounts, and financing.
  • Prepare all related paperwork and applications.
  • Deliver new vehicle, explaining features, warranty, and paperwork to ensure customer understanding and loyalty.
  • Maintain prospect development system.
  • Stay informed about new products, features, and accessories.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Regularly stand, talk, and hear; frequently walk and sit.
  • Potential exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
