Job summary

Martinrea in Indiana seeks a Controls, Robotics & Automation Technician to keep automated production lines running at peak performance. You’ll work hands-on with ABB/FANUC robots, PLCs, servo drives, HMIs, and welding systems.

We expect 3–5 years of industrial experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to diagnose complex electrical/electronic systems. This role offers real problem-solving with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Electro-Mechanical Technician diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
• 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Working knowledge of ABB and/or FANUC robotics.
• Strong controls and troubleshooting skills.
• Electrical/electronic troubleshooting experience
• PLC and drive programming experience
• Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and support ABB and FANUC robots.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs.
• Program and troubleshoot AC/DC and servo drives.
• Modify PLC programs and HMI/machine interfaces.
• Troubleshoot MIG and resistance spot-welding systems.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems.
• Repair and maintain automated manufacturing equipment.
• Design and modify electrical/electronic circuits.
• Adjust welding schedules and equipment parameters.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Identify root causes—not just symptoms.
• Support automation improvements and continuous improvement projects.
• Work with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Quality, and other teams.
