Job summary

AAA Club Alliance in North Plainfield, NJ is hiring a Level B Automotive Technician to perform diagnostics and repairs across suspension, brakes, electrical, and climate control. This is a full-time role with Sundays off and paid training opportunities to obtain ASE certifications.

The position requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. We offer competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician.
• ASE or dealership certifications preferred in suspension & steering, brakes, HVAC.
• Strong diagnostic and repair capability with attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repair work on suspension, brakes, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain knowledge and expand skills to stay flexible across assignments.
• Keep work areas organized and compliant with safety standards.
• Plan and organize work for maximum efficiency and vehicle movement.
• Complete repairs to manufacturer specifications and best practices.

What We Offer

• Competitive Pay: $26.98 – $37.90/hour flat rate. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
• Billable Hours Guarantee: 20-hour minimum per week.
• Productivity Bonus: Opportunity to earn a $250 – $550 bonus every two weeks, based on productivity and performance.
• Schedule: Full-time, 5 days/week - Sundays off every week, plus one other day off based on business needs.
• Training & Certification Support: We pay for your ASE certifications and recertifications!

Your Impact As An Automotive Repair Technician B

• Perform diagnostics and repair work, including Suspension & Steering, Brake Systems (including ABS/traction control), Electrical Systems, and Heating & Air Conditioning.
• Maintain technical knowledge and expand skills to increase flexibility in assignments.
• Keep work areas organized, clean, and in compliance with safety standards.
• Properly maintain tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company safety guidelines.
• Plan and organize work for maximum efficiency, including vehicle movement.
• Complete all repairs and maintenance to manufacturer specifications or industry best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician with proven diagnostic and repair skills.
• ASE or Dealership certifications preferred in Suspension & Steering, Brakes, and Heating & Air Conditioning (or ability to obtain within 12 months – paid for by AAA).
• Strong communication skills for mentoring and collaborating with the team.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings if offered a position (background, drug, fitness for duty).
