Job summary

CarMax is seeking an automotive technician in Merriam, Kansas to perform quality inspections, brake and engine repairs, 4-wheel alignments, and steering/suspension work to meet CarMax Mechanical Quality Standards.

You will drive vehicles as needed, provide outstanding customer service, and maintain tools and spaces in a fast-paced store environment. ASE certification is preferred; shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret and transcribe data to maintain records.
• Complete Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
• Work with associates from other departments within the store.
• Perform multiple duties in a high-energy environment.
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity in both arms and hands.
• Speak clearly and listen effectively with customers/associates.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Monitor shop compliance with CarMax, OSHA and EPA policies.

Responsibilities

• General repairs, brake repair, engine repairs, heating and air condition repairs, steering and suspension repairs including 4-wheel alignments, and safety inspections and diagnostics.
• Ensure that all vehicles meet CarMax Mechanical Quality Standards.
• Drive vehicles to and from various locations as requested by Manager.
• Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
• Maintain, repair, and clean CarMax provided tools, equipment and spaces.
