Job summary

ASE is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the quality function in our automotive manufacturing environment in Southeast Michigan. The role focuses on establishing quality priorities, strengthening systems, and improving KPIs while collaborating with manufacturing and engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related discipline preferred.
• 8–12 years of progressive quality experience in automotive manufacturing, with leadership responsibility.
• Multi-plant quality experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, and 8D/root-cause analysis.
• Experience resolving automotive customer quality concerns and driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality function, establishing clear priorities, expectations, and accountability.
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and operations leadership to set quality objectives and improvement initiatives.
• Drive improvements in customer complaints, scrap, rework, containment, and cost of poor quality.
• Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, verification of effectiveness, and prevention of recurrence.
• Ensure PFMEAs, Control Plans, inspection standards, and work instructions are accurate and effective.
• Respond to internal and external quality concerns with timely containment and sustainable corrective actions.
• Build relationships with customers through proactive communication and effective resolution of quality issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on product launches and process changes.
• Support supplier quality concerns in coordination with internal resources.
• Lead quality reviews, audits, corrective-action follow-up, escalation, and management review.
• Develop the quality team through coaching, cross-training, and succession planning.
