Job summary

MS Companies in Alabama is seeking an Assistant Quality Manager to lead daily quality operations in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. You will supervise quality teams, coordinate with customers, drive Lean improvement, manage containment and corrective actions, and support new program launches.

This role requires strong leadership, deep quality knowledge, and the ability to develop high-performing teams across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing, quality, or production environments.
• Strong leadership and employee development skills.
• Experience managing quality teams, supervisors, and inspection personnel.
• Experience with sorting, containment, and customer quality issue resolution.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies, including 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D.
• Strong understanding of quality processes, documentation, and manufacturing standards.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and manage employee performance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other technology systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English to follow work instructions and complete required documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily quality operations, supervising quality supervisors and inspection teams.
• Serve as liaison between MS Companies and customers on quality performance and requirements.
• Support new program launches via quality process implementation and on-site coordination.
• Manage sorting and containment to resolve quality concerns quickly and effectively.
• Lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for customer complaints.
• Ensure procedures, work instructions, and documentation align with customer needs.
• Analyze quality and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools and quality methodology.
• Maintain clear reporting and strong communication with internal teams and customers.
• Travel to multiple customer sites to support operations and issue resolution.
