Job summary

Manay CPA, in collaboration with a leading automotive supplier, seeks a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to drive quality assurance and continuous improvement at a state-of-the-art facility in the U.S. This role leads QMS compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA, while coordinating internal and external audits and root-cause analysis across production and supplier networks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within an automotive environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VDA 6.3 and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP.
  • Proven experience leading internal and external audits, including customer and certification body audits.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles; Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Experience in an international company is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across production, engineering, and customer-facing teams.
  • A reliable and personable team player who can work independently or within a team environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality-related software tools (e.g., SPC or QMS platforms).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 and VDA standards.
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits, including customer and certification body audits.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and manage complaint resolution using 8D, 5-Why, and Root Cause Analysis methods.
  • Monitor customer scorecards and drive improvement plans as needed, and report monthly to management.
  • Lead or support supplier evaluations and audits, and manage supplier non-conformances and corrective actions in coordination.
  • Monitor in-process quality controls and implement process adjustments to maintain product standards.
  • Lead the development and approval of Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAP submissions
  • Support new product launches from a quality assurance perspective.
  • Track quality KPIs, including scrap rates, rework, PPM, and internal/external defect rates, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other data-driven quality tools such as MSA according to customer requirements.
  • Manage and develop quality team members, and conduct quality training sessions for inspectors, technicians, and staff across operations, logistics, and new employees during onboarding processes.
  • Identify potential quality risks and recommend preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Create or update any instruction, procedure, or visual forms all across the plant related with all departments.
  • Other duties within the scope of the position may be assigned from time to time.
