Job summary

Adient Lakewood is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality functions for new program launches and ongoing production, ensuring product quality and reliability while driving continuous improvement.

You will be the primary quality contact for intracompany and external customers, coordinating PPAPs, CAPA, control plans, and SPC analyses, and mentoring team members in statistical methods, with 10–25% travel to supplier and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• ISO/TS 16949, Continuous Improvement, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC knowledge required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings including GD&T and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in quality roles within automotive manufacturing, especially seating.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement of Production Quality Deliverables (RTY, Craftsmanship, RPPM, CPPM, SPPM, Warranty/ JD Power).
• Prepare PPAP packages for product submissions and customer approval.
• Resolve customer and supplier quality issues using Kepner-Tregoe, 8-D, and similar methods.
• Develop and update control plans, inspection plans, and containment plans.
• Mentor team members in statistical applications and ensure timely travel for customer sites (10-25%).
