Thornley Corporate Solutions Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer for an automotive Tier 1 supplier site in Howell, Michigan. This on-site role focuses on leading APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plans to support new launches and continuous quality improvements.

You will collaborate across plants, suppliers, and customers, drive risk assessments, Run-at-Rate readiness, and PPAP submissions, and mentor teams through root-cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 5-6 years automotive quality engineering experience.
• Hands-on APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plans expertise.
• Strong knowledge of GM, Ford, Stellantis customer requirements.
• SAP and advanced MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP Core Tools implementation from concept through launch.
• Drive feasibility studies and risk assessments across the supply chain.
• Develop and execute Process FMEAs with cross-functional teams.
• Create comprehensive Control Plans covering the value chain.
• Support Run-at-Rate activities and quality readiness for production launches.
• Conduct MSA and Process Capability studies per Production Control Plan.
• Manage PPAP submissions and customer approval processes.
• Capture and implement Lessons Learned for continuous improvement.
• Ensure Release Gate deliverables meet quality maturity standards.
• Proactively identify risks and implement Special Control Strategies.
• Bridge communication between plants, suppliers, and customers.
• Drive quality performance metrics and process improvements.
