Job summary

SL Tennessee is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide dimensional support at the plant and to develop and revise PPAP documentation. You will act as the first point of contact for customers and lead corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues.

The role requires experience with TS16949/QS9000 quality systems, GD&T, and APQP/PPAP processes. Travel to customer sites and suppliers may be required as part of this position.

Qualifications

• Automotive QC experience preferred.
• Must read GD&T and interpret engineering drawings.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and suppliers.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000/TS16949/QS9000 QA standards is required.
• Ability to develop and revise PPAP documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide dimensional support to the plant.
• Develop and/or revision of PPAP documentation.
• First point of contact for customers.
• Lead Corrective and Preventive Actions.
• Develop and revise TS16949 procedures and work instructions for quality.
• Root cause analysis of quality issues.
• Support APQP activities for new platform programs.
• Track progress of launched programs and secure customer awards.
• Prepare quality documents including PPAP submissions, PFMEA, control plans, and MSA studies.
• Initiate and follow up corrective actions; analyze customer complaints.
• Coordinate sorting and containment of faulty products; communicate issues.
• Establish acceptance criteria for cosmetic matters; validate equipment and MSA.
• Participate in quality system documentation and training.
