Job summary

The Recruiting Hive in Wilson, NC is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer to drive quality processes in an automotive manufacturing setting. You will support quality functions, review design documentation for compliance, and lead quality initiatives with suppliers and customers.

You will apply AIAG tools (APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC), conduct audits, and support IATF 16949 activities while promoting continuous improvement and strong documentation to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required in a relevant field.
• Recent experience in the Automotive Industry is required.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 Quality Systems is required.
• Experience with the APQP system is required.
• Exceptional communications skills and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques is preferred.
• Experience in program launches at an automotive manufacturing plant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize core AIAG quality tools to resolve quality concerns.
• Manage internal and external quality concerns and conduct Pareto analysis of defects.
• Act as customer support and investigate customer complaints.
• Assist with continuous improvement activities, such as SPC and capability studies.
• Assist with IATF 16949 activities.
• Manage/interface customer quality system.
• Address supplier quality issues and manage Quality hold area.
• Create and maintain PPAP status with customers.
• Review and disposition products on hold.
• Organize necessary rework/sorting operations.
• Assist with corrective actions and quality problem resolution.
• Create, review, and update job books to meet standards and specifications.
• Utilize 8D, 5Why, etc., for problem solving.
• Handle customer and supplier concerns appropriately.
• Audit problematic jobs and drive improvements with Manufacturing Team Leaders.
• Perform audits to support plant function.
• Supervise vendor quality control and calibration of measuring equipment.
• Follow safety regulations and enforce company safety rules.
