Job summary

Hutchinson Sealing Systems Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer II to advance vehicle sealing system design. You will support program planning, drive DFMEA/PFMEA activities, and coordinate with suppliers and OEMs.

You will manage documentation, perform technical reporting and assist with PPAP during vehicle launches. The role requires a bachelor's in engineering with 4–8 years of automotive experience, strong CAD and MS Office skills, and travel as needed to Hutchinson plants and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 4-8 years of related automotive engineering experience.
• Knowledgeable in product design and development.
• Knowledgeable in sealing manufacturing processes.
• Knowledgeable in automotive body engineering.
• Solid knowledge of sealing materials, purchased components, sealing performance and design requirements.
• Basic understanding of CAD design.
• Good planning abilities.
• Good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in at least one full program cycle from RP0 to launch.
• Willingness to travel to Hutchinson plants, customer locations and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Advanced engineering of vehicle sealing systems.
• Assist Program Manager in program planning.
• Lead in completion of ADVP&R.
• Customer contact on engineering issues and technical support.
• Follow product/process validations.
• Identify internal or external risks in terms of Quality, Cost, timing, product definition and processes.
• Develop the DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s.
• Track and resolve engineering issues to meet program milestones.
• Maintain and update drawings and parts lists.
• Assist in creating program documentation (Design Requests, FEA, Technical Definition Sheets, PCA’s).
• Publish regular technical reports (build issues & resolutions, studies).
• Assist with PPAP and OEM launches; travel for build events as needed.
