Job summary

thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. is seeking a Program Manager to lead major initiatives with top management, customers, and suppliers. You will own project execution, define timelines, mitigate risks, and drive cross-functional teams.

The role requires an engineering background and extensive PM experience in automotive contexts, with willingness to travel and strong leadership and communication skills. Salary ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 plus bonus eligibility and relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• Automotive or heavy vehicle industry experience with increasing responsibility.
• Substantial large-scale Project Management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools & techniques.
• Bias to action and hands-on mentality with execution focus.
• Proven experience delivering presentations to executive management.
• Structured, organized and detail oriented.
• Independent thinker and problem-solver in a changing environment.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer and supplier locations and international Bilstein facilities.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Proven ability to build both internal and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Logistics and Operations to satisfy customer expectations.
• Overall management of new program launches with resources, scope, timelines and risks.
• Strategizes and outlines goals and objectives of the program.
• Leads cross-functional project teams and chairs regular meetings.
• Monitors profitability and ensures targets are achieved.
• Develops budgets and ensures costs are planned and invoiced.
• Maintains a clear project plan with milestones and critical paths.
• Tracks progress against cost and timing objectives and mitigates variances.
• Ensures alignment to strategic initiatives and informs decisions.
• Documents projects with schedules, status reports and action plans.
• Prepares program reports for upper management and executive review.
• Presents status and escalates issues to sponsors and steering committees.
• Coordinates engineering changes through change management processes with the customer.
• Travels to customer and supplier locations and to Bilstein facilities internationally.
• Communicates with customers regarding Bilstein's products and capabilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
