Job summary

US Farathane is hiring a Product Designer to support the Design team at the Corporate Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI. You will maintain 3D models and drawings using CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE, interpret design inputs, and develop multiple concepts within tight timelines.

You will ensure Ford and OEM release requirements are met, collaborate on body CAD aspects, and manage the Ford FDJ Release from start to finish, including GD&T annotations and 2D drawings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in design technology or equivalent; experience considered.
• 5–7 years in hands-on automotive product design.
• Minimum 5 years with CATIA V5 software.
• CATIA V5 drawing experience 1–5 years.
• Familiar with Automotive OEM Global Requirements and Ford standards.
• Ability to create Class A surfaces from master data.
• Experience with injection molded components and mold design.
• familiarity with Ford 3D EXPERIENCE standards

Responsibilities

• Maintain 3D models, drawings, and assemblies in CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Interpret design inputs from internal/customer teams and apply to parts.
• Develop multiple design concepts within short timeframes.
• Prepare parts for OEM release into OEM systems per standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering to meet Body CAD requirements.
• Communicate deliverables and timelines with Design Manager.
• Meet schedules for design and drawing deliverables.
• Apply GD&T on drawings and create 2D/3D annotations.
• Create math models using Sketcher and parametric modeling.
• Manage Ford FDJ Release from start to finish and release data in Ford systems.
