Summary

The Porter is responsible for moving and cleaning vehicles, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in good condition, and supporting the general manager as needed. The role requires the ability to operate various types of vehicles safely and maneuver them around the parking lot and shop floor. The Porter must demonstrate sound judgment, apply common sense understanding, and ensure proper documentation of key tags and fobs. Additionally, they are responsible for inspecting vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards and regulations, and reporting any issues accordingly.

Essential Duties

• Maintain the appearance and performance of new and used vehicle inventory by cleaning interiors and exteriors and replenishing fluids as needed.
• Place buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles.
• Keeps vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the general manager and according to dealership standards.
• Sweep, shovel, or vacuum debris and salvageable scrap, and remove containers from work areas.
• Inspect vehicles, parts, and equipment for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
• Drive vehicles to and from the service lane and parking lot as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
