Job summary

Moss Bros. Auto Group is seeking a PDI Tech to preload systems, inspect and service all new vehicles delivered to the dealership. You will check lubrication, inspect for damage, and drive tests to ensure vehicle operation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with ASE certification or technical degree preferred. Drive responsibility and attention to detail are essential for maintaining quality service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• ASE Certification or technical degree is preferred.
• One year of experience in a service department.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of automobiles and fast diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Preloads systems, inspects, prepares and services new vehicles delivered to the dealership.
• Inspects vehicles for damages and missing components.
• Test-drives vehicles to verify brakes, transmission, and engine operation.
• Activates power equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Touches up minor chips and scratches on paint.
• Installs optional equipment specified by the dealer.
• Maintains workspace in an organized and clean manner.
• Follows safety policies and assists in other Service Department areas.

Responsibilities

• The PDI Tech is responsible for preloading systems and includes inspecting, preparing, and servicing all new vehicles delivered to the dealership Inspects all lubrication levels and adds proper lubrication, as required
• Inspects all new vehicles for obvious damages and missing components
• Test-drives vehicles to ensure proper operation of brakes, transmission, and engine operation
• Activates power equipment such as electric windows, seats, radio, horn, lights, and directional signals to ensure specified operating standards
• Touches up any minor chips and scratches on paint
• Installs optional equipment specified by the dealer such as rugs, seat covers,
• Installs standard components such as hubcaps and license plate holder
• Follows all company safety policies, operations, and practices
• Assists in all other areas of the Service Department as needed
• Maintains high ethical standards in all actions
• Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities
• Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred)
• One year in a service department
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
