Parts Counter

We’re looking for a career-minded, customer-focused Auto Parts Counter Person to join our team. If you have previous auto parts sales experience and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is an excellent opportunity. This position offers a base salary plus commission, with earning potential driven by team success and collaboration with technicians to support store growth. Physical stamina is required, as the role involves lifting, squatting, and carrying heavy items.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
  • Communicate professionally with staff and customers
  • Provide efficient and knowledgeable updates on customer parts status
  • Reference and understand the parts catalog when advising on specific parts
  • Answer phone inquiries, provide price quotes, and assist customers
  • Review body shop estimates to confirm accurate parts orders and pricing alignment
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers
  • Pull and fulfill orders from stock, ensuring weekly inventory accuracy
  • Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock items requiring immediate attention
  • Locate out-of-stock parts through external sources and submit emergency orders when necessary
  • Ensure internal requests for parts are properly billed on service repair orders
  • Process payments from retail customers and obtain credit authorizations

Qualifications

  • GM Parts experience is a major plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous auto parts sales or counter experience (dealership or aftermarket)
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents
  • Proficiency in calculating figures such as discounts, commissions, percentages, and volume
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable with a positive team-player attitude
  • Receptive to feedback for continuous improvement and development
  • Flexible scheduling, including availability for weekends and holidays
  • Strong computer skills and ability to multitask efficiently
