Job summary

Summit Truck Bodies, LLC, a quality manufacturer of custom designed service and lube truck bodies, is expanding its workforce. We are seeking an Automotive Painter for the 3rd shift to apply paint to bodies and parts using spray equipment and ensure a high-quality finish.

You will follow job orders, review blueprints, comply with safety rules, and help maintain a clean, efficient work area. Prior automotive painting and prep experience, plus proficiency with pressure feed spray gear, are

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good standing MVR.
• Some technical training helpful.
• Experience in automotive paint and prep work.
• Experience using pressure feed spray equipment.
• Attention to detail is a must!
• Able to use hand and power tools and equipment.
• Forklift operation ability if required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and shifting of priorities.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying work orders, BOMs and blueprints.
• Operate paint spray equipment to paint surfaces of bodies and parts.
• Dispose of hazardous waste from the painting process in accordance with laws.
• Apply paint coats in accordance with company specifications.
• Adjust paint spraying equipment to achieve proper flow and coating thickness.
• Match differences between colors, including shade and brightness.
• Inspect painted parts and bodies after paint is applied.
• Wear PPE and observe health and safety rules.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs and take initiative.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.
