Royal Automotive Group is seeking a motivated Painter Apprentice to join our team in Tucson, AZ. This paid apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in automotive painting, surface preparation, and restoration, perfect for starting a career in the painting trade.

No prior professional experience is required; candidates should be 18+, possess a high school diploma or GED, and be comfortable working with automotive paints and safety equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Some auto body experience or tech school desired.

Responsibilities

• Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
• Removes rust, grease and dirt from work surface.
• Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
• Mixes paint / primer / sealer according to specifications.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
• Paints surface and/or edges of vehicle parts using sprayer.
• Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
• Color sands and buffs away any imperfection in topcoat.
• Maintains tools and keeps equipment and work stall clean and in a proper state of repair.
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator.
• Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
