Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking a Packaging Engineer to maintain and improve packaging processes for automotive exterior components. You will work cross-functionally to develop PFEP, implement VSM, and ensure packaging projects meet all requirements while controlling costs.

The role requires a technical degree and at least two years in packaging/industrial engineering, preferably in automotive manufacturing. Proficiency in CAD, Lean methods, and APQP/PPAP is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum two years of packaging, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related experience preferred.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop PFEP (Plan For Every Part) for packaging.
• Contribute to development of VSM (Value Stream Mapping) and future state goals.
• Ensure packaging development and improvement projects meet customer and internal requirements.
• Manage all program costs related to packaging budgets and issue RFQ packages to suppliers.
• Create and maintain packaging plans to support current and new programs.
• Maintain open issue tracking reports and action items.
• Communicate packaging projects with Program Managers and stakeholders.
• Maintain customer-specific packaging requirements and documentation.
• Develop packaging test methods, validations, and protocols.
• Support floor plan layouts and equipment/workspace design for efficiency.
• Provide representation of AIM Systems with customers and suppliers.
