Job summary

Ricart Automotive in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced automotive technician to diagnose, repair, and clearly communicate with customers and staff. The role covers diesel and gas engine work, EV diagnosis (training provided), and performing MPI inspections with accurate estimates.

You will deliver quality repairs, drive tests with customers, maintain documentation, and stay current with manufacturer information.

Qualifications

• 3-year flat rate technician experience.
• Proficient with IDS and FDRS diagnostic tools.
• Elite communicator for customer and Ricart automotive employees.
• Self-motivated and driven to perform at a high level.
• Diesel engine repair experience is preferred.
• Gas engine repair experience is required.
• EV diagnosis and repair (willing to train).
• MPI inspection including estimates and explanations.
• Ability to perform door-to-door outside sales.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license with less than 9 points.

Responsibilities

• Diesel and gas performance and engine repair.

• Complete MPI inspection for customers, including estimates and explanations.
• Test drive vehicles with customers to evaluate noise, driveability, and vibration concerns.
• Repair vehicles based on diagnosis and customer requests.
• Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure customer issues are resolved.
• File dealership and manufacturer-required documentation on each repair.
• Stay up to date on all manufacturer information and training.
• Return the vehicle to the proper location, ensuring security and proper labeling.

What We Need From You Job Duties and Requirements:

• You must be an elite communicator as you will communicate with the customer, and any and all Ricart automotive employees
• Door-to-door outside sales
• Must be self-motivated

• Test drive vehicles with customers to evaluate noise, driveability, and vibration concerns
• Repair vehicles based on diagnosis and customer requests
• Test drive vehicles after repairs have been completed to ensure customers' complaints have been resolved.
• File appropriate dealership and manufacturer-required documentation on each repair
• Keep up to date on all manufacturer information and training
• Return the vehicle to the appropriate location, ensuring the vehicle is locked, numbered location is updated, and wiped off/cleaned accordingly.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with less than 9 points to remain insurable and able to drive on company property

Essential Job Functions:
