Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices in the Wylie, TX area is seeking a full-time Automotive Mechanic to join our service and tire sales center.

You will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of vehicles, perform undercar repairs, oil changes, inspections, and tire mounting/dismounting. We offer competitive pay, health and other benefits, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or equivalent
• Possess an extensive toolbox of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs
• State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications (G1, A4, A5) are preferred

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles.
• Perform a wide variety of undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, and shocks.
• Complete state-mandated inspections.
• Change oil and filters.
• Check fluids and replace worn parts.
• Dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Possess an extensive toolbox of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs.
• State inspection license(s).
• ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
• Mechanics must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
