Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices in the Wylie, TX area is seeking a full-time Automotive Mechanic to diagnose and repair vehicles across our service centers. You’ll perform brakes, oil changes, tire work, inspections, and other undercar services with an emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• 2 years of automotive repair experience or training.
• Own an extensive toolbox of personal tools.
• State inspection license(s).
• ASE Certifications: G1, A4, and A5.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform automotive services on customer vehicles.
• Undercar repairs including brakes, shocks, and struts.
• Complete state-m mandated inspections.
• Change oil and filters; check fluids.
• Replace worn parts; rotate and balance tires.

About the Position of Automotive Mechanic

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles.
• Perform a wide variety of undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, and shocks.

• Dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Possess an extensive toolbox of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs.
• State inspection license(s).
• ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
• Mechanics must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
