About the Position of Automotive Mechanic

As Mavis’s leaders in undercar repairs, Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers’ vehicles. They perform a wide variety of undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, and shocks. They also complete state‑mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Possess two years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Possess an extensive toolbox of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs.
• Optional: Hold state inspection license(s).
• Optional: Hold ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Automotive mechanics are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair. They must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
