Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices is seeking full-time Automotive Mechanics in the Geneva, IL area to inspect, diagnose, and service customers' vehicles. This role covers a wide range of tasks including brakes, undercar repairs, inspections, and tire services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• At least 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance.
• Extensive toolbox of personal tools used for undercar repairs.
• Preferred: state inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services.
• Perform undercar repairs including brakes, struts, and shocks.
• Complete state-mandated inspections.
• Change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts.
• Dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
• Regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.

About the Position

Automotive Mechanics inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles, including undercar repairs (brakes, struts, shocks), state‑mandated inspections, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, replacing worn parts, and tire dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing.
