Job summary

Crown Collision Center in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to diagnose and repair mechanical collision-related damages and specialize in key repair areas. The role requires hands-on expertise as a general service technician with the ability to work to manufacturer standards.

Two to five years of mechanical/technical experience is preferred. ASE and manufacturer certifications are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
• Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
• Notifies Estimator of any additional repairs needed.
• Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Maintains and wears all required safety equipment.
• Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to hazardous materials.
• Diagnose, service, and repair vehicles per manufacturer specs and safety requirements.
• Keeps customers' cars clean and notifies service advisor of changes in condition.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains dealership-owned tools and manuals.

Crown Collision Center in St. Petersburg FL is hiring a Mechanical Technician.

This position is for a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs on mechanical-related collision damages in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair, and who has acquired necessary skills as a general service technician.

Two-Five (2-5) years of Mechanical/Technical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
• Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
• Notifies Estimator of any additional repairs needed.
• Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
• Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
• Diagnose, service, and repair vehicles in accordance with all manufacturers’ specifications, and all applicable safety requirements.
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Attends department meetings as requested.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other duties may be assigned, based on company’s needs.

Qualifications

• Two-Five years technical experience, preferred
• Manufacturer Certifications, preferred
• ASE Certifications
• Lift up to 70 lbs.
