SpeeDee - Maddalena Automotive in Gardner, MA is hiring an Automotive Mechanical Services Technician to perform brake work, tune-ups, diagnostics, and repairs. You will develop trusting customer relationships through honest, competent service and participate in ongoing training.

The role requires advanced automotive experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. A supportive team and growth opportunities are offered within the locally owned SpeeDee network.

Qualifications

• Advanced automotive repair experience required.
• ASE certification preferred (Engine Performance, Engine Repair, Brakes).
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform high-quality brake, tune-up, diagnostic, and repair services.
• Build trusting relationships with customers through honest service.
• Maintain shop inventory and notify manager for reorders.
• Explain SpeeDee programs, services, and pricing to customers.
• Attend applicable training sessions for career path and role.
• Ensure equipment operates correctly and perform preventive maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards or repairs needed.

Job Summary

The Automotive Mechanical Services Technician is responsible for all brake, tune-up, diagnostic and repair services, as well as additional services as directed by the Shop Manager or Assistant Shop Manager.

Responsibilities

• Performing high-quality mechanical repair services in accordance with industry-approved standards
• Developing trusting customer relationships through honest and competent service
• Maintaining shop supply inventory and notifying the Shop Manager of reorders as needed
• Explaining SpeeDee programs, services, and pricing structure in order to achieve high customer satisfaction and increased revenues
• Attending training sessions that are applicable to the career path and position requirements
• Ensuring equipment is functioning properly at all times and performing preventive equipment maintenance
• Following appropriate safety procedures and notifying the Shop Manager of safety hazards or needed equipment repairs

Requirements

Other Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to the duties listed above, every Automotive Mechanical Services Technician is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows, and clearing litter. Crew members must attend crew meetings as required, as well as other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Working Conditions

• Materials and Equipment used: Automotive oils, fluids, and lubricants. Windshield washer fluid, battery electrolyte
• Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the entire shift.
• Physical Activities: Position requires good corrected vision, hearing, frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.
